Former Finance Minister, Kwabena Duffuor, has described the appointment of Professor Jane Naana Opoku-Agyemang, running mate for John Dramani Mahama, as an emancipation to the suffering of women in the country.

According to a post on his Facebook wall, the appointment of comes at a time that the nation needs leadership with conscience, truth and empathy.

Dr. Duffuor was one of the key personalities whose names came up strongly to partner former President John Mahama going into the 2020 general elections.

“Your preferment is the first of its kind and brings emancipation to our long suffering women, gives inspiration to our daughters”, he said.

This, he believes, would be a sign of hope for persons who have been victims of oppression in the country.

Dr. Duffuor added that her promotion to occupy the office of the Vice President, in the next NDC government, come January, 2021 was divine; an act of God.

He sought God’s guidance for her new position
