The one week observation of the death of former Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Forestry Commission of Ghana, Kwadwo Owusu Afriyie, is underway in his hometown, Sakora Wonoo in the Kwabre East District of Ashanti Region.
Sir John as he was affectionately known and called, died on July 1, 2020.
He is reported to have died of the novel COVID-19 disease while on admission at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC).
Politicians particularly from the New Patriotic Party (NPP) and National Democratic Congress (NDC), have paid various tributes to their departed colleague.
A virtual observation of the one week of his departure was held in Accra a fortnight ago.
