The Suame Municipal Assembly has supported persons with disability (PWDs) in the Municipality with various items worth over GHC81,200 to boost their economic activities.

Eighteen (18) beneficiaries received GHC33 cheques as capital while twenty-four (24) beneficiaries received items from the assembly to support their activities.

The items include refrigerators, corn miller, sewing machines, oven, millet, eggs milk and among others.

The amount was from the three per cent allocation to the PWDs from disbursement of the District Assemblies Common Fund (DACF).

Municipal Chief Executive of the area, Dr. John Osei Bobie noted that contributions of persons with disability matter in nation building, hence government’s decision to cushion them with items that would help boost their economic activities.

According to Dr Osei Bobie, it is the vision of the government to elevate persons with disability from poverty.

He admonished the beneficiaries to use the money for its intended purpose.
