Ghana is considering lifting restrictions placed on its international borders by September 1, 2020.
This is dependent on ongoing discussions and arrangements between the Ministry of Aviation and the Ghana Airports Company Limited.
Ghana announced closure of its borders in March, following the advent of the Covid-19 pandemic.President Nana Akufo-Addo in his 15th address to the nation on Sunday, August 15, 2020, said the restrictions remain in force until he “is convinced each and every traveler can be tested for the Covid-19 at our international ports”.
Nanan Akufo-Addo also commended Ghanaians for paying heed to the protocols put out by the health authorities, which he has led to successful containment of the disease.
