The Talented Royals International School has launched a peace campaign ahead of the 2020 general elections.
The event which took place on the school’s premises as part of the annual graduation ceremony on Friday, October 2, 2020, also saw a pupil of the school, Gabriel Appiah popularly known as Nana AK, outdoored the National Peace Ambassador.
The winner of 2020 edition of Talented Kids contest on TV3, notes that political leaders should be the beacon and agents peace during and after 2020 Presidential and Parliamentary elections.Despite its importance, the process of electing leaders in Ghana has been plagued with a myriad of problems ranging from voter intimidation and suppression, to harassment and outright violence etc.
The role of Ghanaian youth in election-related violence has been particularly dynamic, in that they have been perpetrators and victims at the same time.
Outlined his plans for the peace his campaign shortly after the ceremony, Nana AK called on all citizens to cherish the peace the country is enjoying currently and do everything possible to safeguard it.
The Headteacher of the school, Edward Afful, expressed was grateful to parents and teachers for their relentless effort in assisting pupils with the school’s online module since the outbreak of COVID-19.
He encouraged the graduating pupils to work harder in the next academic year.
