ECOM Ghana sponsors construction of medical facility at Fadama

ECOM Ghana has inaugurated a newly constructed clinic for the members of the Okaikwei Central Constituency in the Greater Accra Region.

The facility, which includes two wards; a laboratory; a Pharmacy; an OPD unit; a kitchen and washroom, is ECOM Ghana’s contribution to improving health care delivery in the community.

The New Fadama Clinic is an initiative of the MP for Okaikwei Central, Patrick Yaw Boamah,  with full sponsorship of $200,000 from Agro Ecom Ghana Limited, in honor of the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Osmanu Nuhu Sharabutu.

Gracing the occasion, was the First Lady Mrs. Rebecca Akuffu Addo; the National Chief Imam, Sheikh Dr Osmanu Nuhu Sharubutu; the Spokesperson of the Chief Imam, Sheikh Aremeyaw Shaibu; the MP for Okaikwei Central; Patrick Yaw Boamah; Rahul Gopinath, Regional Director West Africa & Middle East; Muhmmadu Muzzammil the Country Head of ECOM Ghana and other dignitaries.ECOM hospital at Fadama

Through its corporate social responsibility efforts, ECOM Ghana has provided infrastructure developments in health, access to potable water and education. The company has refurbished seven hospitals and 35 schools, installed over 300 boreholes, built 50 computer classrooms and invested GH¢1.4 million with the Otumfuo Agro ECOM mobile learning platform, providing ICT training to rural kids.

“Agro ECOM Ghana Limited has been at the forefront of creating rural prosperity for some time now,” explained Rahul Gopinath, Regional Director, West Africa & Middle East.  In the year 2000, Agro ECOM, was the first to introduce computers and computer literate managers into the Cocoa industry,” he added.ECOM hospital at Fadama

He recalled that: “In 2008, the COCOBOD Agro Ecom Traceable Foundation was established which was then, the largest philanthropic organization working directly with farm communities in Ghana.

According to him: “I am delighted that ECOM has met a pertinent need in the lives of the Fadama community. Undoubtedly, with the right maintenance culture, many generations will benefit from this medical facility.

ECOM Ghana works with 150,000 farmers on various entrepreneurship initiatives, which are geared towards helping build rural prosperity. It actively invests in farmer capacity building to move them from subsistence farming, to farming as a business through coaching on best practices. The company also engages in additional livelihood projects that support income diversity.
