Black Stars book qualification to Afcon 2022 despite draw with South Africa

The Black Stars on Thursday, March 25, 2021, booked their qualification to Afcon 2022 tournament in Cameroon, following a 1-1 draw in the Group C game against South Africa.

The first half saw the South Africans dominate the game but couldn’t find the back of the net despite creating more chances.

Black Stars goalkeeper, Razak Abalora rescued his side on the 20th minute following a strike from Sifiso Hlanti.

The game ended goalless in the first half after the home side wasted glorious opportunities to take the lead despite controlling the pace of the game.

The second half saw Ajax wonderkid, Kudus Mohammed score the opener on the 48th minutes to put the Black Stars into the lead.

South African winger, Percy Tau restored parity kind courtesy Gamildien assist just three minutes Ghana took the lead.

The South Africans were pushing for the second goal but were clasped by the Stars.
Coach C.K Akunnor introduced the likes of Osman Bukari, Emmanuel Lomotey and Emmanuel Boateng but to no avail.
