Residents of Odumse-Ladowayo, a remote community in the Shai Osudoku district of the Greater Accra Region, now have a modern health facility built for them through the efforts of their Member of Parliament (MP).

The edifice which costs some GH¢250,000 was funded by Qater Charity foundation, a non governmental organization that operates in over 60 countries globally.

The health facility comes with washrooms, Laboratory, pharmacy, delivery room, consultation rooms, quarantine rooms as well as male and female wards.

Speaking at the Commissioning, the MP for Shai Osudoku constituency, Linda Obenewa Akweley Ocloo, noted that the construction was a dream come true to help alleviate the plight of the residents in accessing healthcare in the community.

The Lawmaker also said she was very much concerned about the health needs of her coustituents since the only reliable health facility that served the entire Shai Osudoku district was the Dodowa District Hospital.

The commissioning of the healthcare facility at Odumse-Ladowayo, according her, comes as a timely intervention for the remote community and its adjoining communities, particularly patients who trek long distances to Dodowa to access the only service in the District.

County Director of Qater Charity foundation, Ahmed Mohammed Adams explained that since the development of every community lies in the health of it’s residents, it was their responsibility to contribute their quota to Odumse-Ladowayo.

He further indicated that the foundation has over 900 projects established in Ghana in areas such as Education, Health, water and many more.

He therefore used the opportunity to thank the Chiefs of Odumse-Ladowayo for their support in releasing the land to raise such edifice and promised to do more for the Ghanain communities.

Rev. Ebenezer Asiamah, Health Director for Shai Osudoku, who received the keys to the facility from the MP, expressed his profound gratitude to Qatar Charity Foundation and Linda Obenewa Akweley Ocloo, and promised to maintain the facility to enable it serve it’s intended purposes.
