PNC fires leader, appoints new chairman

The National Executive Committee (NEC) of the People’s National Convention (PNC) has sacked the party’s leader cum 2020 flag bearer, David Apasera, and the National Chairman, Moses Danibaah from office.

The duo were accused of financial misappropriation of the party’s finances among other forms of misconduct.

A petition had earlier been brought before the Executive Committee of the party by some of its members of the party including the General Secretary – Janet Asana Nabla and two others.

Addressing the media after a NEC meeting, the Ashanti Regional Secretary, Seidu Suleman, declared that David Apasera and Moses Danibaah “are guilty of all charges levied against them including financial malfeasance of some GH¢1.7 million and GH¢150 thousand withdrawn from the party’s account”.

” In view of that Mr. David Apasera and Moses Danibaah have been removed from office. They are no longer recognized as PNC leader and national chairman respectively based on Article 49(a)(4) of the PNC constitution for misconduct “, Seidu Suleman stated.

The Greater Accra Regional Chairman, Delali Kankam, shall act as the acting National Chairman and Leader of the PNC until a substantive person is elected.

Again, the General Secretary, Janet Asana Nabla is cleared to continue to conduct her function as stated in the constitution.

Janet Nabla and the new leader were charged to ensure that all party belongings be retrieved from the former leader and national chairman even if it means going to court.

Furthermore, he condemned the NEC meeting of August 28, 2021 saying it was not properly constituted pursuant to Article 45(3) and as such that meeting is null and void and its outcome must be treated with contempt.
