A 27-year-old woman, Rachael Tetteh has been remanded into Police custody by the Kibi Circuit Court for allegedly murdering and beheading her husband.
Rachael was arranged on the suspicion of murdering the 35-year-old Amanor Lartey over the weekend.
The presiding judge, His Lordship Peter Oppong Boanu, granted the prosecution’s plea to remand the suspect to permit the police conduct further investigations into the matter and also forward the docket to the Attorney General for advice.
The court later adjourned the case to October 20, 2021.
Briefing the media after the court sitting, Public Relations Officer of the Eastern Regional Police Command, DSP Ebenezer Tetteh said:
“The 27-year-old woman murdered her husband and severed the head. She was put before the court and was remanded and asked to appear on 20th October. This is to enable the police to conduct further investigations. Her plea was not taken, and she was charged with murder, so the police will forward the docket to the AG’s office for advice.”
Background
The suspect, Racheal Tetteh, was reported to have beheaded her boyfriend, Daniel Amanor Lartey, on a farm footpath at Teye Glover, a suburb community of Bososo in the Fanteakwa South District of Eastern Region.
The incident occurred in the early morning of Sunday, October 3, 2021.
She was then arrested by the Akim Tafo Police Command where she was kept in police custody for the crime committed.
Meanwhile, body of the deceased has since been deposited at the New Tafo Akim Government Hospital.
