The Ministry of Youth and Sports has summoned the executives of the Ghana Football Association (GFA) to an emergency meeting over the abysmal performance of the senior national team, Black Stars at the ongoing 2021 African Cup of Nations (AFCON) in Cameroon.
The stars failed to qualify out of Group C after losing to Morocco and Comoros Islands. They also played a one-all draw with Gabon causing them to amass just a point.
This was not enough to get the team to qualify for the knockout stages of the competition which was postponed to 2022 as a result of the outbreak of the COVID-19 disease.
Ghanaians who are unhappy with the performance of the stars have taken them to the cleaners with some calling for the disbandment of the team.
Ahead of their arrival on the shores of Ghana, the Ministry has summoned the GFA Executives who manage the senior national team to a meeting on Friday, 21st January, 2022.
A letter summoning them to the emergency meeting states that the Ministry could not comprehend why the team which was adequately equipped could not perform at the tournament.
