Pamela Djamson-Tettey takes over as new MD for Ghana Airports Company

A former Director of Communications and Outreach at the Millennium Development Authority (MiDA), Pamela Djamson-Tettey, has been appointed as the new Managing Director (MD) of the Ghana Airport Company Limited (GACL).

Madam Tettey takes over from the immediate past MD, Yaw Kwakwa, after the GACL Board confirmed her appointment following the latter’s resignation.

Her appointment takes effect from February 18, 2022, a statement from the company said.

The statement stated that “following an emergency meeting of the GACL Board held on Wednesday, February 16, 2022, Mr Yaw Kwakwa submitted his resignation as the Managing Director of GACL effective close of day, February 17, 2022.”

According to the GACL’s release, Pamela Djamson-Tettey comes on board with over 25 years of proven track record in senior management including nine years in the mining industry, nine years in the manufacturing sector and five years in the power sector.

They added that Madam Djamson-Tettey is well-networked with a confident approach and integrity, and also strategically astute, possesses a strong ability to build sustainable relationships, with excellent interpersonal communication and language skills.

She is the sixth MD since the company’s inception and the third female to occupy the position.

Other past MDs are as follows: Mr Charles Kwame Asare (2014—2017), Mr John Dekyem Attafuah (2017—2019),  Mrs Essie Anno-Sackey,  Mrs Doreen Owusu-Fianko as well as Mr Yaw Kwakwa.
