Two of four Members of Parliament of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), who were reported to have filed a motion to probe the death of Professor John Evans Fiifi Atta Mills, have denied their awareness of the said motion.
The two are, MP for Mpraeso, Davis Ansah Opoku, and Tema Central MP, Yves Nii Noi Hansen Nortey.
According to the two lawmakers, they were unaware and therefore, have called on leadership of the NPP in Parliament to “expunge” their names from the motion.
“Though we are aware of a broader discussion on the motion we are unaware of any such motion being filed under our instruction and in our names.
“We therefore, call on your high office to expunge our names as co-sponsors of the said motion,” they noted in a memo written to the Majority Leader on Friday, February 18, 2022.
