Nima shooting: Police arrest another gang leader

The Ghana Police Service has announced the arrest of one of the architects of the Nima violent clashes.

Ali Awudu who is said to be the leader of the ‘Bombom Gang’ was arrested by the Police in an intelligence-led operation.

Below is the communication from the Police:

“Police have arrested suspect Ali Awudi one of the Kingpins and leader of the “Bombom gang” in connection with the recent violence in Mamobi-Nima.

The suspect who has been on the run since the incident occurred on January, 18, 2022 was arrested by the police at Aflao through an intelligence-led operation.

His arrest means that the leaders of the two groups are both in police custody.

Suspect Ibrahim Hussein alias Kumodzi, leader of the Kumordzi group was earlier arrested on February 4, 2022 in a similar intelligence-led exercise.

According to the police, 14 suspects have been arrested so far in connection with the incident whiles other members of the gang are being pursued to face the law.

The police in a release assured that it will “do whatever it takes to arrest all other members of the gang and dismantle their activities through the due process of the law.”
