Former President, John Dramani Mahama, has prayed that Christians be filled with hope, forgiveness and the love of God as they mark the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ.
According to the ex-president, Jesus Christ sacrificed himself to save humanity from damnation should they accept his message of salvation.
“Today, Good Friday, marks the day Jesus Christ sacrificed himself for the world, so that all who believe in the gospel will be saved”, he stated in a Facebook post.
Explaining the reason for Good Friday, he added that “as Christians, we celebrate this special day and call it GOOD because by Christ’s crucifixion and death, our sins have been atoned for and we are now a new creation with a mandate to live as Christ did.”
Mr. John Mahama concluded his Easter message with the prayer that “may this holy day rekindle in us hope, forgiveness, sacrifice, compassion and the love of God.”
