The National School Feeding Caterers Association is calling for an increase in grants allocated for school feeding.
The caterers associated their request with the continuous increase in prices of food items in the market.
According to them the current 97 pesewas for a plate is not sustainable and needs to be looked at.
The Public Relations officer for the National School Feeding Caterers Association, Madam Adizetu Amanuah Ankrah, who spoke at a press conference in Accra called on the appropriate authorities to address their concerns as soon as possible.
“Are we going to get the increment or not? Or they are on it? We want to know. We want them to tell us something. They should come out and tell us something”, said Madam Amanuah Ankrah.
While pleading with the Akufo-Addo Administration to heed their demand, she stressed that they are not expecting anything other than good news from the president.
She added that “that [they would not agree to the increment] is what we don’t want to hear. So we are pleading with Nana Akufo-Addo to come to our aid. He is our father.”
