The Accra Regional Police Command further received a formal complaint that the tigers were being kept in the residence of a business mogul known as Nana Kwame Bediako.
To provide security for the commuters, the police in a statement signed by Chief Bright Kwabena Danso from the Accra Regional Police Public Affairs Unit said it has put in place measures to ensure safety.
“A special police team has been deployed to provide adequate security in the affected neighbourhood to ensure the safety of residents until the animals are relocated”
“Preliminary investigations have established that a resident in a gated community at Osu, is keeping two tigers under lock in a cage in his house and efforts were underway to move the animals to an appropriate facility” the police added.
The Police entreated residents in the community to remain calm whiles investigations continue with the appropriate stakeholders to ensure their safety.
