Former Ghanaian International, Derek Boateng has advised Inaki Williams not to be over expectant in the Black Stars.
The retired midfielder’s advice comes on the back of Inaki Williams’ nationality switch to represent Ghana.
Born in Bilbao, Spain, to Ghanaian parents and having represented the youth level of the Spanish national teams, the player chose to play for the Ghanaian side following fruitful talks with the Ghana Football Association.
On Tuesday, July 5, 2022, the 28-year-old Atletico Bilboa attacker announced that he is now available to play for Ghana.
But Derek Boateng who has seen it all with the national team urged Inaki Williams to be mentally prepared for the possibility that all might not go the way he thought.
“Inaki Williams should not expect to have everything perfect at Black Stars camp. Here is not Spain or Europe but he’s a good addition to the team,” he told Onua Sports monitored by Angelonline.com.gh.
The former Getafe midfielder kingpin admitted that having known the qualities of Inaki Williams, his addition to the stars is paramount going forward with Qatar 2022 FIFA World Cup at hand.
The stars are nonetheless housed in same group with Portugal, Uruguay and South Korea for the tournament group stages.
