Member of Parliament for the people of North Tongu in the Volta region, Samuel Okudzeto Ablakwa, has commended the government for extending the deadline for sim card registration.
He was pleased with how the government was able to ratify the challenges facing the process and its decision to extend the exercise.
Ghanaians have up to Friday, September 30, 2022, to re-register their sim cards to avoid deactivation after the Communication Ministry on Sunday, July 31, 2022, announced the extension of the initial deadline.
Commenting on the news, Mr. Ablakwa who is also a Ranking Member, Committee on Foreign Affairs Ministry believes the period would be used to address the challenges confronting the issuance of the Ghana Card.
“I commend government for extending the deadline for the sim card re-registration exercise. It’s now time to immediately fix the avoidable bottlenecks with Ghana Card issuance and the needless ID rigidity,”
“With adequate consultation, it’s possible to end the stress and chaos,” the NDC MP added.
