The host of Accra-based Angel FM’s Anopa Bofoↄ morning show, Kofi Adoma Nwanwani, has narrowly escaped death from an attack by some unidentified persons at Agbogba, a suburb of Accra.

The incident occurred on Saturday, August 6, 2022, while he was driving on the Agbogba-Kwabenya road within the Ga East Municipality.

The journalist has been on the radar of the assailants for some time now, as he indicated earlier this year.

If it would be recalled that during one of his shows, Kofi opened up about insecurities he has been living with in recent times.

According to him, he has received countless threats from strangers including warnings to render his life miserable.

It is unknown why his life is under such threats, but the intimidation was eventuated when some aggressors on motorbikes accosted his car and smashed the glasses while on his way home from December 31st night service last year.

“I had to get a Police escort home,” he said, indicating how he made it out of the danger he found himself in at the time.

Taking the situation seriously, the Angel Broadcasting Network staff reported the cases to the Ghana Police Service for action.

“The Police Headquarters can testify that I have been there countless times to make reports. Tessano Police can attest to my coming there.”

He, however, indicated that the Police were investigating the issues and hoped that the perpetrators would be identified soonest for justice to be served to protect his life.

But the hopes of enjoying the peace he knew until the malice seem not to come to life as the attackers have succeeded in inflicting him with pain, almost to death.

On Saturday, Kofi was trailed in like-fashion to the earlier mentioned incident by the men on motorbikes from Kutunse until he veered off the road to take refuge in China Mall within the Agbogba enclave when he sensed the possibility of an attack.

Moments later, he continued his journey counting that the attackers would have backed off, but that was when he was ambushed.

He has sustained multiple knife wounds on his left arm, and his forehead also shows some lacerations from the attack.

The injuries, however, did not come without an attempt to cause more serious damage to the journalist as he was doused with a liquid suspected to be gasoline.

Kofi was quick to escape from the hands of the perpetrators into a nearby shop where he was sheltered and made emergency calls for support.

He is currently on admission at a hospital in the municipality receiving treatment.

The case has however been reported to the Ghana Police Service for immediate action.
