The Nursing and Midwifery Council (N&MC) has commenced investigations to earnestly identify the student nurse claiming she will kill any client who seeks her service because she was forced into the profession.

According to the Council, “it places great importance on issues of professional conducts for nursing and midwifery students, nurses and midwives, thus, condemns such act.”

The nursing student in a viral video days ago complained of being forced into the profession by her family and therefore warned potential clients to “run for your life because I may kill somebody” when she is posted to a health facility to work.

But in an August 15 statement, the N&MC  said its “attention has been drawn to a social media publication in which a purported nursing student in uniform is seen making a claim that she will kill any client who seeks her service as a Nurse because she was forced to pursue nursing against her will.”

Disassociating itself from the ‘wild’ claims in the Tiktok video, the Council said “investigations have commenced earnestly to identify the said student and apply the necessary sanctions as enshrined in the Code of Conduct for Nurses and Midwives.”

“The statement made by the alleged student nurse is a clear demonstration of ignorance about the nursing and midwifery professions and, therefore, the public should treat it with the contempt it deserves.”

The Council also assured the public of its mandate to “secure in the public interest the highest standards of training and practice of Nursing and Midwifery.”
