Former president of the Republic, John Dramani Mahama has eulogised the late English monarch, Queen Elizabeth II, describing as “an icon of pride”.
This he said as part of sympathizing with the bereaved King Charles III and the royal family in a facebook post on Thursday, September 8, 2022.
Expressing his regrets following the passing of the Queen Thursday, the National Democratic Congress leader said the news was sad.
“She carried her royal duties with grace, poise & dignity” the post read, adding that she was “an icon of pride not only to the British people but the Commonwealth”.
The Queen died on Thursday at her Scottish castle in Balmoral. She died aged 96.
She was the longest-served consort in the country’s history.
