Dormaa-based Aduana Stars continued their unbeaten run in their last five matches against Accra Hearts of Oak at the Nana Agyemang Badu I Park, as they handed the latter their first defeat in the 2022-23 Betpawa Ghana Premier League season.

The ‘Ogya’ boys who went into the game with 12 matches without a win ensured that they beat the Phobians 1-0 on Sunday to end their winless run.

Bright Adjei’s 49th-minute goal was enough for Coach Paa Kwesi Fabin’s side to begin the campaign with a good start to show the Phobians the real boss of the famous ‘Nana Agyemang Park I’.

The Phobians who pushed for the needed equalizer saw their dream shuttered after defender, Caleb Amankwa, was red-carded in the closing stages of the game.

In another fascinating clash at the El Wak Stadium, Legon Cities lost 1-0 at home to Tarkwa-based Medeama SC with Kofi Asmah’s 68th minutes headed goal through Kwadwo Amoako’s corner kick.

Legon Cities came back strongly to dominate play for the equalizer, but luck eluded them in the 80th and 81st minutes as Midfielder Micheal Atou and Micheal Ampadu were sent off for bookable offence and offensive conduct respectively.

Elsewhere in Cape Coast, newly promoted Akim Kotoku Royals began their season on a good note following a 1-0 slim win margin over Accra Lions.

Former WAFA and Wolfsberger AC midfielder Augustine Boakye’s 19th strike secured the pride of Eastern Region their first-ever premier league victory in the club’s history.
