The Municipal Education Directorate of Bibiani Ahwiaso Bekwai in the Western North Region has made a heartfelt request to all individuals and philanthropists to come to their aid to get a new office complex.
Madam Florence Afful Dadzie, the Municipality Education Director, who said this in an interview with Angel News’ Kofi Gyabaah indicated that the current office is always affected by flooding whenever it rains.
Her appeal came on the back of the heavy downpour over the weekend which led to the overflow of water to their office, destroying properties belonging to the school.
Madam Afful Dadzie said the situation has gravely affected their operations directly and indirectly because they have lost some items including computers and documents among other equally important valuables.
“We were not welcome by the news at all, when I got to the office the water flooded the entire office, especially the registry due to the rain. All files and computers kept there had been destroyed. That’s the current situation we are facing now which has saddened me,” she expressed her frustrations.
She, therefore, called on the government through the Bibiani Municipal Assembly and other individuals to help them acquire a new office complex that would enable them to run education affairs in the area.
“Although we need a lot of facilities which were going to be attended to one at a time, the concurrent rainfall pattern has changed everything so we will need a new office complex.
“Now, we are perplexed; because our computers and other properties are destroyed by the flood, we don’t know our next step as am speaking, so we will be grateful if we get any help.”
Adding to that, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) for the Municipal Education Directorate, Sheriff Kwaku Dua, also noted that the edifice had not been befitting as expected for a municipality.
According to him, the quality of Education depends on all and sundry, and not one person, therefore he urged agencies and philanthropists to come to their aid for the betterment of the country.
