Ban on social gathering and noise making placed on Assin South District

Residents within the Assin South District of the Central Region would have to reduce noise making in all spheres, as the ban on noise making and organising social gatherings takes effect Sunday, October 16, 2022.

These directives were announced by the Assin Appimanim Traditional Council in the Central Region after ban placed on weddings, engagements, funerals, and other outdoor social events.

The directives which took effective Sunday, October 16 to November 20, 2022, also implies to all programmes associated with noisemaking

By this directive, bereaved families cannot bury their dead relatives during the period in which the ban is in force. Also, information centres in various communities are prohibited to also carry out their operations.

Announcing the decision at a press conference at Assin Manso, the Chief of Assin Andoe, who doubles as the Adontenhene of Apimanim Traditional Council, Nana Kwaku Atta Banafo III explained that the directive form part of the activities put in place towards the final funeral rite of the late Chief of the area Barima Kwame Nkyi XII who died some six years ago.

He, therefore, advised all the divisional areas to adhere to the directives as a sign of respect to their late traditional leader as failure to do so attracts punishments.

He also warned the youth to abstain from any deviant behavior during this period since no traditional authority in his or her capacity would consider leading any offender to seek for apology when found culpable.

He asserts that the Traditional Council does not bury its chiefs with human heads thus cautioned the general public that whoever intends to take advantage of the occasion to commit any crime in the process may not be temper justice with because there is heavy security presence in the area.

Nana Kwaku Atta Banafo III furthered by entreating guardians and parents to be mindful about the movement of their children since unscrupulous persons could hide behind the chief and engaged in unpleasant activities.
