Former President John Dramani Mahama has observed that the victory of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 general elections relies on vigilance at the polling stations at all levels.

Mr Mahama believes the opposition party will need to put in place adequate measures to ensure that all results are collected on time.

Addressing delegates in Sunyani East and West, the flagbearer hopeful of the NDC for the 2024 elections, underscored the importance of giving adequate training to all polling agents and carefully selecting competency among them for extreme vigilance to ensure that the ballots are protected until the results are counted and declared.

“Our success at the polls will depend on our work at the polling station” therefore “persons selected as polling agents must be vigilant and ensure that all ballot papers are counted and call the party office later and disclose the figures the party secured. The figures will be uploaded into the system so by midnight, the party will have all results,” he noted.

The 2020 presidential candidate thus admonished executives both at regional and constituency levels to ensure fairness and transparency in the distribution of party resources and campaign materials to the branches.

“I know you will vote for me, and I thank you all. I will also work hard with you to campaign effectively for our 2024 victory. I will provide the materials and logistics needed, but please let’s send them to the branches when they come. That is where the work is”, Mr Mahama charged.

John Dramani Mahama also reiterated his call on executives of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) not to relent in working hard for the party between now and December 2024 to ensure that the NDC’s recapturing of power becomes emphatic.
