Former Black Stars and Accra Hearts of Oak Striker, Prince Tagoe, has called for a massive shake-up at the club following the team’s recent poor performance.
The Prince of Goals, as affectionately called due to his goal scoring prowess, believes majority of players in the rainbow colours must be shown the exit door since they are below the club’s standard.
Tagoe’s comment is in line with the recent abysmal performance of the Accra-based team, coupled with their last weekend’s heavy 5-1 defeat at the Accra Sports Stadium to Tarkwa-based Medeama Sc in the ongoing 2022/23 Betpawa Ghana Premier League.
Speaking on ‘Angel Sports Live’ on Angel TV, Legendary Prince Tagoe called off the playing body of his former club and described the team as “lazy.”
“I watched the Hearts vs Medeama match, and I was sad, the management should sack most of the players and must also look at the recruitment standard of the team again.
“When I was going to Hearts, I wanted to replicate what some of the club’s legends have done. During my days with the club, I looked up to Ishmael Addo, I wanted to score goals like him, which motivated me, but this time around, the mentality is different, it seems the players don’t know the club they are playing for,” Angry Prince Tagoe chastised.
Underscoring the status quo of the continental club masters, the former Hoffenheim and Bursaspor attacker said, “they need consistent performance” to maintain its standards because the club “deserves better.”
Prince Tagoe spent just a season with the Rainbow club where he won the 2004 Ghana Premier League title and the CAF Confederations Cup. He also finished the 2005/2006 season as the top scorer in the Ghana Premier League with 18 goals.
