Former Ghana striker, Asamoah Gyan, announced his retirement from competitive football due to frustration, not old age, according to veteran Ghanaian Coach J.E Sarpong.
He claimed that Asamoah Gyan still had more years left to play football but circumstances forced him to retire, expressing his frustration.
He said, “Ghanaians talk too much and we like to bring people down.”
According to him, Asamoah Gyan is psychologically tough and doesn’t readily give up until he achieves his goals, which is something that most people don’t know about him.
“People don’t know Asamoah very well; they don’t take him serious because he is a happy, good-natured, and jovial person,” he added.
