The Communication Officer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Gabriella Tetteh, has accused the Electoral Commission (EC) of doing the bidding of the New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the limited registration exercise.
Speaking to Angel Morning Show Host, Okatakyie Affrifa-Mensah, on Wednesday, September 13, 2023, Ms Tetteh stated that the EC would not be able to register enough number of voters if they stick to the decision to do the registration at their district offices.
“According to the constitution, the EC must open the registration to every citizen who is a Ghanaian and of sound mind and 18-years and above to register. EC would not be able to register these citizens if they are going to focus the registration at the District offices,” Ms Tetteh said,
She asked the EC to decentralize the registration to all polling centers to enable every eligible citizen to register as stated by the Constitution to avoid infringement on the right of the citizens.
“They should decentralize the registration back to the polling centers to enable every citizen to register’’, Gabriella Tetteh said.
