Former Member of Parliament for Builsa North Constituency, Timothy Awotiirim, has asserted that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) is deliberately undermining Dr. Bawumia’s chances in the upcoming December 7 polls.

The former lawmaker, alleges that the NPP is fully cognizant of the root causes of the current power challenges in the country but is engaging in disingenuous blame-shifting tactics.

Pointing to Ghana’s staggering energy debt of $12 billion USD, as disclosed by the government in its Energy Sector Recovery Programme of 2018, Awotiirim contends that this underscores the NPP’s awareness of the prevailing issues.

“So, it means that they know the problem that has affected the energy sector but have pretended and also giving flimsy and insulting answers to Ghanaians when they are being probed on the issue,” he said.

He added that this attitude is like a deliberate intention to deny Dr. Bawumia victory in the 2024 polls come December.

“It is like you people don’t want Bawumia to break the 8 so you are pushing problems on him with your utterances and governance,” he claimed.
