The Regional Reorganisation Minister, Dan Botwe and Education Minister, Dr. Matthew Opoku Prempeh, have been detained at the University of Ghana Medical Centre (UGMC) after showing signs of contracting Coronavirus (COVID-19).

They are in isolation at the ‘Red zone’ where only Covid-19 positive are kept and were attended to by only persons with full Personal Protective Equipment (PPEs).

Mr Botwe, according to reports, reported at the Hospital last Saturday.

A release signed by Press Secretary to Dr. Opoku Prempeh, Rodney Nkrumah Boateng said, the Minister had initially tested negative for the disease.

This result, he said, informed the Minister’s decision to travel to his constituency over the weekend for the governing New Patriotic Party’s parliamentary primaries.

“Following his return to Accra, he felt unwell and decided to check himself in for further tests including a second check for the COVID-19…,” he said.
