The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has been acclaimed as the Presidential candidate of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) for the 2020 elections.
“I thank the Almighty God for the honour done me today by you’ members of the National Council of the NPP for acclaiming me as the presidential candidate of the party for the 7th December 2020 general elections. I shall with God’s help, do everything within my power to justify your decision and lead this smooth deserving party to another victory in December. I accept this in all humility,” he said while delivering his acceptance speech.
He further promised the rank and file of the party that he would work to ensure that the party is retained in power.
“I will do everything in my power to justify this decision to acclaim me as the Presidential candidate and lead the party to victory in the 2020 polls…,” he assured.
The President also announced that he wants to retain Vice President Dr Mahamudu Bawumia as his running mate for the elections which will be held in December 2020.
