COVID-19: Ghana records 854 new cases

The Ghana Health Service (GHS) has recorded 854 new confirmed cases of the coronavirus, thus bringing the nation’s total active case count to 22,822.

The number of recovered and discharged persons (from COVID-19) has also shot up to 17,564.

This comes four days after the nation crossed the 20,000 mark for COVID-19 on July 5, 2020.

Information from the GHS shows that the death toll has risen to 129 as at Thursday, July 9.

The case count per region showed that Greater Accra is still in the lead with 12,560 cases.

Ashanti Region followed with a total of 4,824 while the Western Region came in third with 2,045 cases.

With nine recorded cases, the North East Region was the region with the lowest cases.
