The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that it will embark on a two-day registration exercise for Senior High School (SHS) students who are eligible to vote.

This exercise is scheduled to commence on Friday, July 10 and end Saturday, July 11, 2020 across the nation in schools that do not have registration centres within them.

“Qualified SHS students who are 18 years and above, are encouraged to present themselves at the registration centres within their schools with a national Identity Card (Ghana Card) or a Ghana Passport”, a statement from EC said.

The Commission says applicants who do not possess any of the two (2) stated documents can rely on two voters who have already registered as guarantors.

To guarantee the safety of EC officials and applicants, the EC has given assurance that all COVID-19 safety protocols shall strictly be adhered to during the process.

The Commission encouraged political parties to send their agents to the centres.

“Additional days shall be announced when it becomes necessary to ensure that all eligible voters are registered”, the statement said.
