Residents of Akyem Asene in the Asene Manso Akroso District were thrown into a state of shock and displeasure after armed macho men allegedly working with National Security Council, fired gunshots at a registration center in the town.

According to eye wittiness, the supposed National Security Officers who came to the registration centre only fired the gunshot and beat a young man from the community for questioning the District Chief Executive (DCE), Alex Inkoom for allegedly campaigning and sharing of nose masks, hand sanitizers at the centre.

This situation provoked the DCE who allegedly ordered the national security operatives to attack and arrest the young man at the polling station.

The situation later provoked the residents who attempted to fight back but the man who was attacked and arrested by the National Security operatives was released.
