The Editor-in-Chief of the New Crusading Guide newspaper, Abdul Malik Kweku Baako has said he is scared ex-President Jerry John Rawlings might disgrace him when he visits him to express his condolences concerning the loss of his mother.

Ex-President Rawlings lost his mother, Madam Victoria Agbotui about a month ago and has been visited by many dignitaries and groups to sympathize with him.

Both President Nana Akufo-Addo and ex-President John Mahama have already visited ex-president Rawlings in his residence to mourn with him.

Speaking on the Peace FM’s Kokrokoo Morning Show, Kweku Baako stated that, he always finds it very challenging to visit Mr. Rawlings after he fell out with him more than 40 years ago.

According to Mr. Baako, the former president is unpredictable and can always do something very embarrassing to him if he decides to pay him a visit.

“My problem with Rawlings is political. It has nothing to do with something personal. He seems very fantastic when you get to interact with him. I only dislike his politics. That does not mean, I hate him”, Mr. Baako explained.

He however said he might be considerate if the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA), asks him to join them to go and express condolences to ex-President Rawlings.

According to him, they have never met and it would have been the first time they will be meeting since November 1979.

He added, “Let me tell you one thing, in as much as I say he has a perfect sense of humor, he also has a certain spark. If I visit him, he could look at me in the face and ask ‘what are you looking for in my house?’ You want me to go there so he embarrasses me?”
