Police in the Central Region have picked up five persons suspected to have been involved in the murder of Mfantseman Parliamentarian, Ekow Quansah Hayford.

There aren’t much details about who these suspects are but the police in a Twitter post Friday, October 16, 2020, say they were arrested from their hideouts in the region.

Ekow Quansah Hayford was shot dead by unidentified gunmen at about 1am on October 9, while he and his entourage were returning from a campaign event within the constituency.

This was after his car was attacked on the Nkusukum Mankessim-Abeadze Duadze road.

Family members held a memorial service on Thursday, October 15, to mark a week of his passing.

Meanwhile, the governing New Patriotic Party (NPP) on whose ticket the lawmaker was contesting reelection before his untimely death, has selected his widow, Opheilia Hayford, as his replacement in the December 7 parliamentary polls.
