Flagbearer of the National Democratic Congress (NDC), John Dramani Mahama has explained why his wife, Lordina Mahama has been ‘missing’ from politics in recent times.
According to the former President, the former first lady was frightened by the lies told about her in 2016 and has decided to step back from politics.
He emphasized that, his wife, Mrs. Mahama, has decided to concentrate on her foundation so he (Mahama) will also concentrate on his politics.
He clarified that his wife will still not be active in politics but rather, focus on her foundation even if NDC is declared winner for 2020 election.
“In 2016, there were a lot of lies against Lordina so she was a bit traumatized by the experience so she wants to take a back role and let me do my politics,” he said.
He pointed out that, NDC party already has a female vice presidential candidate and will soon have a Gender Minister who will handle issues concerning women empowerment and anything female.
