Government begins recruitment of 22,000 health professionals

The Ministry of Health (MoH) has announced its readiness to open their online portal to recruit some 22,063 health professionals into the public healthcare delivery agencies.

This follows financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance for the Health Ministry to employ various professionals needed in the sector.

A signed statement dated October 29, 2020 said that, “the Ministry of Health wishes to inform the general public that it has obtained financial clearance from the Ministry of Finance to recruit 22,063 various health professionals into the public health delivery service agencies”.

According to the Acting Chief Director of the Ministry, Kwabena Boadu Oku-Afari, qualified personnel are to visit the ministry’s application portal to formally apply for available categories.

The statement further indicated that the categories available are Pharmacy and Pharmacy Doctors, Allied Health Professionals as well as 2018 Professional Nurses with either Degree or Diploma certificates.

The ministry is looking to engage the services of 300 Pharmacy Doctors, 3,456 Allied Health Professionals and 18,307 professional nurses who completed in 2018.

The portal would be opened on November 2, and closed on November 6, 2020 for the Pharmacy & Pharmacy Doctors slot while the duration for Allied Health Professionals category would be from November 4 to 15, 2020.
