Angel Group Chairman, Dr Kwaku Oteng, to be awarded keys to US city of Stonecrest

Chairman of the Angel Group of Companies, Dr Kwaku Oteng will be the latest recipient of the keys to the city of Stonecrest in Georgia in the United States of America (USA).

He will also be honoured with a statue in the city.

The granting of the keys, Senior Director of Community and Cultural Affairs, Al Franklin from the City of Stonecrest said is in recognition of his entrepreneurial accomplishments that transcend the borders of Ghana.

Al Franklin who was on Angel 102.9FM’s Morning Show, Anɔpa Bɔfoɔ on Friday said that the first Mayor of the city, Jason Lary settled on Dr Oteng after carefully shortlisting African entrepreneurs who they believe possess the ability to help change the fortunes of the city.

“This is an official recognition and it’s one of the biggest honours one can get, it is indeed an international recognition for his accomplishments…,” he told host Captain Smart.

Al Franklin who was in the studios with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Angel Broadcasting Network (ABN), Samuel Acheampong, also known as Bronzy said the city will officially organise a ceremony to hand the keys to Dr Kwaku Oteng. With this keys, Dr Oteng will have an official access to the city to do business.

He said that will also grant Dr Oteng the opportunity to also invest in the city and do business there.

“We at the city of Stonecrest is here because Dr Kwaku Oteng has created opportunity for engagement with us…being here gives opportunity to see the investments he’s done and also see the businesses and how we can benefit from that…,” he said.

Dr Oteng will also be granted an official invitation by the mayor to attend the inauguration of the 46th President of the United States of America.

Commenting on this, the CEO of ABN said the Chairman was highly impressed with the honour done him and is ready to cooperate and help develop the city of Stonecrest.

He outlined that the management of the Angel Group did due diligence upon receiving the invitation to ensure that it was genuine.

“The honour shows that the city of Stonecrest really embarked on research before deciding to honour him, he has accomplished a lot as an entrepreneur and deserves the honour…,” he said.

He added that Dr Oteng has achieved a lot and has become a true statesman.

    About the city of Stonecrest

Stonecrest, Georgia, DeKalb’s newest and largest city, in terms of population, is located on the southeast corridor of the county.

The city’s 30 square miles encompasses areas such as the business and residential tracts of Panola Road and its adjacent industrial park, Evans Mill Road and the entire Mall of Stonecrest area.

The city’s borders extend east to Rockdale County and south to Henry County. Stonecrest is known for its shopping and restaurants in The Mall at Stonecrest area; however, visitors and residents can explore nature trails and enjoy family activities, hiking, and cycling in the Arabia Mountain National Heritage Area.
