As if losing their self acclaimed “landlord” title to neighbors Accra Great Olympics did not inflict enough pains on the fans of Accra Hearts Oak, they have been hit with another sad news.

The rainbow boys have been ordered by the Ghana Football Association to until further notice, play their home matches behind closed doors at the Accra Sports Stadium.

According to a letter addressed to the Chief Executive Officer of Hearts of Oak, COVID-19 protocols were violated when Hearts lost 2-0 in the ‘Mantse Derby’ on Saturday January 30, 2021. The club has therefore been referred to the Disciplinary Committee of the FA.

Hearts become the first club to be reprimanded for breaching COVID-19 protocols after government lifted the ban on playing behind close doors few weeks ago.
