One of the spokespersons for the petitioner in the ongoing Election Petition case, Abraham Amaliba has advocated that the date set for the cross-examination of the Electoral Commissioner, Jean Mensah should be declared a public holiday.

In an interview with Angel FM’s Kofi Adomah at the Supreme Court premises in Accra, Amaliba said his call stems from the fact that the lead counsel for the petitioner in the case, Tsatsu Tsikata would put the EC chairperson in a very tight corner during the cross-examination.

According to him, the questions that will be put to the EC Chairperson will be remarkable and many would be interested.

“There are law students here and many [are] watching, others will also also be at various work places and every one needs to concentrate on what is happening….so there will be the need to declare a holiday so we can all concentrate…,” he said.
