22 Black Stars players train in Puebla for Mexico friendly on Friday

If there is a dreaded venue in the Ghana Premier league, it is without the WAFA Park in Sogakope. The Academy lads in the last seven years have disrespected oldies in the GPL including Hearts of Oak, Hasaacas and Ashantigold with huge goal margin.

Secondi Hasaacas were crushed 4-1 and 5-0 in 2015 and 2016 respectively. It was the turn of Gloriuos Accra Hearts of Oak in the 2017 league season, when the twinkle little stars loaded the Phobians an unforgettable 5-0 scoreline. The dreamers of Dawu had the worst nightmare of the 2018 season as it was their turn for a whitewash. They too carried five unanswered goals to Dawu. High flying Ashantigold were at the mercy of the “boys” as the miners were whipped 6-1 in the 2020 truncated league. This season Liberty have already had their taste of the school boys. The Scientific Soccer lads were loaded with five unanswered goals.

Conspicuously missing from the list is the Porcupine Warriors. They are one of the few Ghana League clubs yet to suffer humiliating score line at the hands of WAFA. However, Operations Officer of WAFA George Ofosuhene has sound a clear warning shot that it will be their turn soon.

George Ofosuhene tells Angel FM’s Saddick Adams on Floodlight Sports “the Porcupines should not to rejoice yet, one day one day, their time will come. It’s just a matter of time”. In fact Kotoko should give thanks to Abalorah. He really saved them the last time we played against them.

WAFA are 8th on the league log. They contend with Ashantigold in match day 14.
