Bechem United President Kingsley Owusu Achiaw believes the inclusion of the local players in our National team should be supported with actions and not just words.
According to him, the reason why most of the local players travel to foreign countries is to get a chance in the National team hence the local league loses it best players to the African gaints making the league unattractive.
“At the moment al ot of them can play in the national team. They have the quality and also determine to leave a blueprint in the National team rather than the foreign players. To me I believe the calling of the local players to the National team is a step to the right direction.
It can make our local league interesting. The players know very well that when they perform better in their respective clubs, they will end a call up In the National team.”
He believes that when they take this into consideration, it will discourage the local players from traveling outside with the aim of getting a call up in the national team. He spoke with Nananom Fm.
He seize the opportunity to advice the GFA to make sure there is a percentage for the local players in the national team call up.
