Morning Show host at Angel 102.9FM, Blessed Godsbrain Smart, known as Captain Smart has alleged that some several top executives in the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) has been engaging in illegal small scale mining, popularly known as Galamsey.
The unnamed NPP executives, he claimed on his show on Thursday have been inviting Chinese Galamseyers into the country who they employ in areas they acquire for that purpose.
The activity is in spite of the ban placed on the illegal mining by the President as a way of restoring polluted water bodies.
The fight against Galamsey which many claimed was over according to Minister for Lands and Natural Resources designate, Samuel Abu Jinapor is still on course.
But Captain Smart insists that fight is not as effective as it was then as according to him, several of the NPP big wigs are still involved in the act.
He therefore advised the incoming Minister to concentrate on how to sustain the fight.
