A man believed to be in his 40s has butchered his 78-year-old mother and his Sister, 58-year-old Adwoa Mansa at Ajumako Badukrom in the Ajumako Enyan Essiam District of the Central Region.

According to ABN’s Central Regional Correspondent, Kwame Owusu Asante Shadrack the man only identified as Nanif went to the house of the mother and the sister with a sharp cutlass on Sunday and started butchering them unprovoked.

In the process, the left wrist of his sister was severed while both hands of the mother were severely damaged.

Three hunters, who were on their way from farm were also attacked by the same suspect leading them to sustain varied degrees of injuries.

Residents who were alarmed at the happening rushed to the scene and rescued them and later reported the incidents to Enyan Nkwantanum Police leading to the arrest of the suspect.

The victim’s are receiving treatment at Breman Asikuma Our Lady of Grace Hospital.

A Unit Committee member, Simon Ekwam who is also a family member explained that five people were butchered by the man.

The mother and the sister are now in critical condition at the hospital.
