Parliament has a full house now ahead of the final determination of a motion to approve the budget statement and economic policy of the government for the year ending December 31, 2021.

There is a three line whip to members of the majority side and the NDC has also summoned all their members.

The debate on the budget started last Tuesday after the MPs had been schooled on the real implications of the content of the budget which was presented by Majority Leader, Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu on Friday, March 12.

Despite the lively interactions that characterised the debate, tension seems high on the floor as the two leaders of the house, Haruna Iddrisu and Alex Afenyo-Markins, summarised the debates within the alloted 40 mins to each of them.

The haste with which members entered the chamber on Friday, suggests the MPs could be in for longer stay as the NDC members appear not to easily yield into their position.
