Vice President of the Republic, Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia has denounced posters seeking to promote his image as New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) Presidential Candidate for 2024 general elections.

In a press statement by the party’s grassroots few days past, the group called on the Vice President to “publicly disassociate himself from the said action if he’s not the one sponsoring it and subsequently instruct his people to pull down all the posters in question.”

The group viewed the action of the promoters as contravening the party’s constitution and an intension to “send the NPP into opposition and create chaos within it.”

But a communique from the Vice President’s Communication Bureau dated March 24, 2021 indicated that Dr. Bawumia has not consented to any of the said activities and has therefore asked that all should channel their energies into helping the President to achieve his goals for his second term.

Read the full statement below:

“The office of the Vice President has taken notice of the proliferation of posters around the country apparently promoting H.E. Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia as the candidate of the NPP for the 2024 general elections.

“For the record, the Vice President has not given his consent to these and other associated activities.
