A man his wife were robbed at gunpoint by suspected armed robbers at Takoradi Amanful in the afternoon of Monday, April 12, 2021 in what has been described as daylight robbery.
According to sources, the man and the wife had gone to the bank to withdraw some money but they were being trailed by the suspected robbers as the couple drove in their private vehicle from the bank premises.
Upon reaching Amanful East, a suburb of Takoradi the victims realized that they were being followed by the robbers numbering four on two motorbikes so they parked their private car.
The armed men suddenly rushed on the occupants of the private car and demanded the money they took from the bank and in the process shot each of the couple twice in their thighs, took the money and ran away in the full glare of some residents.
The victims who sustained gun shot wounds, are currently at the Effiakwanta hospital receiving treatment.
