An International Law And Human Rights Lawyer, George Bernard Shaw has called on judges in the country to consider tailoring bail conditions to meet the economic standard of accused persons who appear in their courts.
In an interview with Ama Brako Ampofo on ‘Court Nkomo’ on KNM TV on YouTube, the Lawyer argued that he cannot fathom why judges always set bail terms that accused persons always struggle to meet.
“I am saying this because of a lot of accused persons are still rotting in jail with their cases neglected due to their inability to meet high conditions…,” he said.
The Lawyer was of the view that it is time the country takes a second look at the Criminal Offenses Act and amend same to ensure that law is applied fairly.
